As I understand the "orthodox" Christian teaching...the one closest to center thier is a "particular" judgement and a "general" judgement. We recieve the first at death, the second at the Comming in Glory of our Lord. The first is our personal awareness, the second everyone is aware of the outcome and the reasons.
I, personally, believe we go to "The Land of the Dead" and await the, future, judgement of Christ.

i've been absent from this board from some time, as i've been through alot the past few months.
firstly, my mother passed away after complications from her surgery.
so i've lost my entire family since 1999. i'm an only child.

First, I want to wish you the best over the loss of your family members. I lost my Dad in '82 and my sis about ten years ago to colon cancer....bad time....be assured of my empathy....
In regard to your return to the WT: I am somewhat "stumped."
In the book "1984," in the end, knowing "Big Brother" is a farce, the main charecter "returns" to the embrace of Big Brother. He is not moving toward the screen (or whatever was happening), but, his feet are making little movements under the table as if he were. That scene has haunted me since I read that book many, many years ago.
In my appraisal, you are returning to "Big Brother." You have, no doubt, researched enough to know the foundation for the suppossed authority (607 and the 144,000) is unprovable and everthing argues against thier idea. They have forged a "different Good News" and stand accursed before the throne of Christ as a result. They rewrite History: thier own and secular. They can not stand in an open debate on any of the central dogmas of the WT.
And, they lie. Worse, they require lying as a pledge of loyalty to the WT.
They are anti-Christ in the central goal of all JWs is to either destroy the relationship you have with Jesus or cause it never to form.
And, to top it off, many of the things you believe and will do with your self and child (ren) are against the teachings of the Org and will cause friction and strife.
Need I go on?......
So, I am baffled with your decision.
There must be (as Paul Harvey would say) something tied up "in the rest of the Story"
I feel sorry for your child (ren) the most: bringing them into contact with the mythical, non-Christian, un-reality of this destructive, delusional cult.

i was mowing the yard this morning and as usual i was thinking about life and such.
there were weeds with pretty little flowers and some cherry trees trying to grow.
i just mowed them down because i like the way grass looks better.

I figured out how to go back and read the older posts of the folks on the board. I have just finished reading several of yours. You seem to be aware of Life around you: you spend a great deal of time observing "stuff" and thinking about all the different inter-actions going on around you. It seems you have all this stuff floating about, however, it does not seem to be arranged in a logical order...you seem to be searching for the the proper pattern to allow it all to make sense.
Am I wrong in my observation?

i am an addict.
and that is one good reason to back off some.
but the overriding reason is that my nerves have been frayed lately by the actions of a hidden 'stalker', a jw who is hiding behind a cyber-curtain.

If you are in the "Watch Tower Twighlight Zone:" In and thinking of leaving or out and thinking of going in or so miserable you want to puke or realizing things are nutty and the JWs are telling you YOU are the one that is insane......leave that murky area and move into the light.
One of the first steps is taking the first step.....
Jump in: at least you will have a place to vent and discuss things without fear of harm.

i thought that elders were idiots.
i have only ever known one who has ever had any real education, a solicitor and he was an arrogant twonk, the rest were a pathetic bunch of bullies who 'appeared' to be loving and kind but were infact out to find out the shit about everyone and cause as much trouble for everyone as possible.
I knew several Elders that were "ok" however, in the end, if you question, they are as happy as a deranged pirate to help slit your throat.....
Many are caught up in an "unclean pratice:" Ego Masturbation. They, publicaly, stroke themselves, endlessly. Party on.....

As a witness, I did not want to go to heaven.
I wanted an earthly paradise: shack on the beach, books, internet, swimming in the sea, good food, excellent wiskey, and a LOT of "forever" hot sex....aaaahhhhh.....after all, it is what Jehovah promised is it not?
Now, I have surrendered to the reality of the Kingdom as it will be and hope for a part in it: with all I know going in ahead of me. What will it be like? Do not know. Where? Ditto. How? Same.
Will it be better than what I hoped for as a JW? So much more...can not even imagine....
